Narrative:
A major pro arose at ZID after coming back from edarc. Altitude changes (required altitude) were not able to be inputted into host computer. Later in the day; route change inputs into uret failed on continuing occurrences. Add into the equation WX and deviations; volume issues; and holding -- this became a safety issue.
