Narrative:
Aircraft arrived at gate; while in cockpit performing oil service check crew notified mechanic of B system reservoir low level message on ECAM; and associated pump switch fault. I investigated blue system reservoir level at reservoir and found normal. I then proceeded to accomplish a deferral reservoir low level deferral for blue system. I confused the low level reservoir quantity cannon plug with the low level reservoir switch. After pushback flight crew noticed that they did not have affected reservoir quantity indication on lower ECAM screen and returned. Upon further investigation of quantity indication on lower ECAM discovered that I had disconnected the blue system hydraulic quantity indictor cannon plug instead of the blue system hydraulic quantity low level switch cannon plug.

Title: AN AIRBUS A320 RETURNS TO GATE DUE TO 'B' SYS HYD QUANTITY INDICATION WAS NOT DISPLAYED ON LOWER ECAM SCREEN. MECHANIC HAD CONFUSED THE BLUE SYS HYD QUANTITY CANON PLUG WITH LOW LEVEL SWITCH CONNECTOR DURING DEFERRAL PROCEDURE.
