Narrative:

Chain of events: new york departure was vectoring and assigning step-up altitudes as normal. Heading 230; the controller cleared direct to colts neck VOR 115.4. Honeywell rtu's tuned from teb VOR (108.4) to col (115.4); aircraft was climbing from 6000 ft to 7000 ft at 250 KIAS. Autoplt on with FGS programmed. Col VOR was selected and needle pointed back toward teb VOR. Turned the heading bug to 090 degrees from 230 degrees and knew that was not the correct direction; so col was inputted to honeywell NZ2000 FMS; the col VOR directed 180 degrees as a correct course while the raw data pointed 360 degrees. Course was adjusted to 180 degrees. This all occurred in one easy left turn then returned to the right. ATC changed frequency at that point and when signed on next controller reclred direct col VOR. Which we did. After a min or so; the raw data returned to agree with FMS data. Never had that occur in the past. Airspeed increase during this event to 270 KIAS but was reduced within seconds to 250 KIAS. Rest of the flight was normal.

Narrative: CHAIN OF EVENTS: NEW YORK DEP WAS VECTORING AND ASSIGNING STEP-UP ALTS AS NORMAL. HDG 230; THE CTLR CLRED DIRECT TO COLTS NECK VOR 115.4. HONEYWELL RTU'S TUNED FROM TEB VOR (108.4) TO COL (115.4); ACFT WAS CLBING FROM 6000 FT TO 7000 FT AT 250 KIAS. AUTOPLT ON WITH FGS PROGRAMMED. COL VOR WAS SELECTED AND NEEDLE POINTED BACK TOWARD TEB VOR. TURNED THE HDG BUG TO 090 DEGS FROM 230 DEGS AND KNEW THAT WAS NOT THE CORRECT DIRECTION; SO COL WAS INPUTTED TO HONEYWELL NZ2000 FMS; THE COL VOR DIRECTED 180 DEGS AS A CORRECT COURSE WHILE THE RAW DATA POINTED 360 DEGS. COURSE WAS ADJUSTED TO 180 DEGS. THIS ALL OCCURRED IN ONE EASY L TURN THEN RETURNED TO THE R. ATC CHANGED FREQ AT THAT POINT AND WHEN SIGNED ON NEXT CTLR RECLRED DIRECT COL VOR. WHICH WE DID. AFTER A MIN OR SO; THE RAW DATA RETURNED TO AGREE WITH FMS DATA. NEVER HAD THAT OCCUR IN THE PAST. AIRSPD INCREASE DURING THIS EVENT TO 270 KIAS BUT WAS REDUCED WITHIN SECONDS TO 250 KIAS. REST OF THE FLT WAS NORMAL.
