Narrative:

After landing; my first officer performed the walkaround for our return flight and noticed that the right outboard landing light was missing from its carriage and 2 wires were hanging from the underside of the wing. We called maintenance control to report this defect and arranged for contract maintenance to take care of it. We have no idea when or where the landing light departed the airplane; but I figured that it was important for a report to be filed on this matter.
