Narrative:
After takeoff on climb out; noticed vibration; continued climb. Noticed later that the right engine vibration indicator was indicating 2.0; with some power reduction were able to control indication in green arc. Flight attendants called and reported they were hearing noise; when asked stated thought it was from the left side. Consulted QRH; contacted dispatch; and talked with maintenance; decided to continue flight and monitor. Indication continued to climb reaching 2.7; at this point decided to reduce power to flight idle and divert to ZZZ1. Contact dispatch again and advise of our plan. After WX brief for ZZZ1 we agreed to divert to ZZZ2. Emergency declared; engine was not shut down; utilized single engine procedures for approach and landing; no evacuate/evacuation on ground; taxied to terminal. Right engine possible ingestion or fan blade break.
