Narrative:
During the autoland attempt by the inbound crew; the autoland red light illuminated at 200 ft and the autoland was aborted. An unsuccessful autoland was logged. Maintenance action: acp--noted; aircraft is CAT ii per cf 525; needs CAT III check. Maintenance left the CAT ii only placard in place and sent a new maintenance release. I told the gate agent I wanted to discuss this with maintenance; but was told that she was told by zone to close the door; and that 'maintenance is done with the aircraft.' after the door was closed; I called maintenance control to discuss. The captain; dispatch and maintenance control agreed to remove from CAT ii and CAT III and 'autoland inoperative' MEL. We received a new dispatch release message; and a new maintenance release and flew to san. I advised maintenance control I was filing a report. I feel the pushing by ZZZ zone to turn airplanes and get the door shut was; in part; the reason for the illegal and potentially very dangerous maintenance action by ZZZ maintenance.

Title: A320 CAPTAIN MUST RESOLVE MAINTENANCE DISCREPANCY OVER THE RADIO WHEN PASSENGER AGENT ADVISES GROUND CREW MANAGERS WERE UNWILLING TO DELAY THE FLIGHT'S DEPARTURE FROM THE GATE.
Narrative: DURING THE AUTOLAND ATTEMPT BY THE INBOUND CREW; THE AUTOLAND RED LIGHT ILLUMINATED AT 200 FT AND THE AUTOLAND WAS ABORTED. AN UNSUCCESSFUL AUTOLAND WAS LOGGED. MAINT ACTION: ACP--NOTED; ACFT IS CAT II PER CF 525; NEEDS CAT III CHK. MAINT LEFT THE CAT II ONLY PLACARD IN PLACE AND SENT A NEW MAINT RELEASE. I TOLD THE GATE AGENT I WANTED TO DISCUSS THIS WITH MAINT; BUT WAS TOLD THAT SHE WAS TOLD BY ZONE TO CLOSE THE DOOR; AND THAT 'MAINT IS DONE WITH THE ACFT.' AFTER THE DOOR WAS CLOSED; I CALLED MAINT CTL TO DISCUSS. THE CAPT; DISPATCH AND MAINT CTL AGREED TO REMOVE FROM CAT II AND CAT III AND 'AUTOLAND INOP' MEL. WE RECEIVED A NEW DISPATCH RELEASE MESSAGE; AND A NEW MAINT RELEASE AND FLEW TO SAN. I ADVISED MAINT CTL I WAS FILING A RPT. I FEEL THE PUSHING BY ZZZ ZONE TO TURN AIRPLANES AND GET THE DOOR SHUT WAS; IN PART; THE REASON FOR THE ILLEGAL AND POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS MAINT ACTION BY ZZZ MAINT.
