Narrative:
Climbing through FL300; altitude warning horn sounds. Captain silences. Both pilots donned oxygen masks; told ATC needed lower altitude due to pressurization problem and first officer ran intermittent warning horn checklist. Captain flying and talking to ATC. First officer running checklists and monitoring pressurization. Around FL240; pressurization seemed to stabilize; so we tried to slow aircraft descent and level off. Cabin descent rate then dove to 4000+ FPM. We declared an emergency with ATC; asked for immediate descent to 10000 ft and requested landing in ZZZ. First officer ran emergency descent checklist and checklist while captain descended to 10000 ft. Passing through about 14000 ft; captain xferred control of plane and ATC to first officer. Captain then conferred with dispatch; flight attendants and passenger. When captain done; he assumed control of aircraft and landed in ZZZ.

Narrative: CLBING THROUGH FL300; ALT WARNING HORN SOUNDS. CAPT SILENCES.
