Narrative:
On final approach into ZZZ; we selected flaps 20 degrees and the amber 'trailing edge flap disagreement' light illuminated. Flap position indicator showed flaps stuck between 15-20 degrees -- did a go around. Ran the flight manual irregular procedure for flaps 20 degree landing. Advised flight attendants. Landed with the equipment (fire trucks) standing by. Uneventful landing. We left the flaps in 20 degree position when taxied in. Supplemental information from acn 820120: this particular malfunction was a repeat problem on this aircraft. We had an inflight emergency for a chronic write-up.
