Narrative:
About 60 miles east of ZZZ; we noticed engine oil pressure was very low. We followed the checklist; which commanded us to bring the N2 below 88% and check the indication then. The oil pressure indication went into the red region dipping to as low as 29 psi. The QRH instructs us in that case to shut the engine down. We proceeded to do so; declared an emergency and landed in the nearest suitable airport.
