Narrative:
Pushback gate #3 dfw released to taxi headed southwest on ground control cleared to runway 36R. Asked to monitor frequency for possible runway change. Overheard ground control tell another aircraft en route to 36R to hold short of STOL runway. Hearing this held short of inner (G) (STOL 36S-18S) and looked to south and saw turboprop twin on takeoff roll on STOL runway. Had been cleared to runway with no instruction to hold short of inner. Had I not hesitated and looked, I would have been headon to aircraft taking off. Query to ground controller, said he had not directed us to hold short inner taxiway. Potential for disaster with aircraft taking off on STOL runway into path of taxiing aircraft southbound on inner. Dfw ramp to inner at taxiway 24 intersection with inner (G) (STOL 18S-36S). Aircraft takeoff north 36S.
