Narrative:

I refused this aircraft for significant autoflight downgrades due to an inoperative EPR on one engine. The plane had been refused by the captain of another flight and then 'shopped' to me with no documentation of the refusal by the other captain on the release. I am a high minimums captain with less than 100 hours in type; flying to degraded weather that requires an alternate. We would have had no autothrust; no auto land; and no alpha floor protection; etc. The landing penalty had not been applied accurately on the flight plan we were provided (the penalty was 5000 pounds less than it should have been). We need to develop a way to communicate refusals to other pilots who get these planes shopped to them after a captain denies one in the name of safety.
