Narrative:
'Apa' tower cleared us on left downwind for 35L as '#2 for touch and go traffic' behind another small aircraft. The small aircraft in front extended downwind so as to turn a 3 mile final to runway 35L. The runway was for 'touch and go' traffic and when we turned the appropriate left base (having lost sight of the aircraft ahead) our small aircraft was above and west of aircraft on long final. We executed a 'go - around' so as to not interfere with aircraft's final approach course.

Narrative: 'APA' TWR CLRED US ON LEFT DOWNWIND FOR 35L AS '#2 FOR TOUCH AND GO TFC' BEHIND ANOTHER SMA. THE SMA IN FRONT EXTENDED DOWNWIND SO AS TO TURN A 3 MILE FINAL TO RWY 35L. THE RWY WAS FOR 'TOUCH AND GO' TFC AND WHEN WE TURNED THE APPROPRIATE LEFT BASE (HAVING LOST SIGHT OF THE ACFT AHEAD) OUR SMA WAS ABOVE AND WEST OF ACFT ON LONG FINAL. WE EXECUTED A 'GO - AROUND' SO AS TO NOT INTERFERE WITH ACFT'S FINAL APCH COURSE.
