Narrative:

On short final to runway with thunderstorms all around. Tower reported heavy rain beginning at 200 ft. We were planning flap 25 approach and were stabilized for that approach with the autopilot engaged. Upon passing 200 ft; we in fact encountered torrential rain with severely reduced visibility. I opted to continue the approach with an autoland. Since we are unable to conduct a 25 flap autoland due to our flight handbook limitations; I opted to proceed rather than attempt a missed approach given the current weather conditions utilizing my captain's authority.
