Narrative:

Yvr-sea route segment, made crossing altitude of 10000' per jawbn 3 arrival, but failed to note 250 KT restriction was 'hard,' not 'expect' as is usually the case on stars, until within a few miles of lofal. Xed lofal at approximately 280 KTS IAS. 2 comments: we were in 'slow below 10000' mindset since most stars only have 'expect' speed limits. ATC usually calls the airspeed as required. Secondly, since a 'hard' speed on a STAR isn't routine, more attention could be called to it on STAR plate by underlining, symbology.
