Narrative:

On approach switched from runway 28R to 28L. Captain was changing approach in FMGC. ATC called traffic at our 3 o'clock position but was unclear that traffic was also being vectored to sfo for runway 28R. The call made it sound as if aircraft was going into oak. We did not have aircraft in sight. When aircraft was finally sighted realized he was being vectored to sfo as well we were almost abeam each other. In the process of trying to maneuver away from the other aircraft flaps were oversped.
