Narrative:
Took over sector with 3 aircraft left to sequence; 2 in holding; one just cleared back on the arrival. Decided to bring an aircraft who was on top of the holding stack first; due to the aircraft's request; not to hold past XA30z. Descended the aircraft in hold stack expecting aircraft to descend before a confliction developed; didn't happen. Recommendation; tell aircraft what you need; don't expect aircraft to know.
