Narrative:
On the initial brief of the ruudy 2 departure out of teb; departing runway 24; I set the altitude select to 2000 ft (the altitude to cross tasca at is 2000). I disregarded the fact of crossing wentz at 1500 ft; not 1500 ft or above; to then cross tasca at 2000 ft. Neither I nor the co-pilot caught the mistake. This was the first time we had done this departure and missed the 1500 ft crossing at wentz. The controller asked us our altitude and we replied 2000 ft. We were told not to descend; but given a climb to 10;000 ft. We apologized for the mistake and will stress the importance of briefing unfamiliar and familiar SID's more carefully; insuring this will not happen again.
