Narrative:

Cleared for take off on runway 8L at hnl and at about 200 ft tower asked us to turn as soon as possible. I; as the nfp; looked up and saw a cessna 172 on a right down wind for runway 4R instead of a left down wind. I told the controller I had the traffic in sight then I pointed the traffic out to the captain and suggested we stop and turn the other way; to the left; to avoid the traffic. At about 400 feet the captain turned to the left and we passed behind the cessna at about 200 to 300 feet laterally at the same altitude; about 800ft. I told ATC we were deviating and when clear of the traffic I told them we were established on our assigned heading.
