Narrative:
My curiosity to see the air carrier airplane at maui overcame me, so I walked towards it on the ramp until I reached taxiway B. I looked both ways and at the tower and crossed the taxiway to runway 5/23. I again looked both ways and at the tower. I thought I saw a green light, maybe a reflection of the beacon, so I crossed the runway and proceeded towards the airplane. As I approached the airplane I was met by 2 security guards--one amused the other officious and alarmed. What was I doing there? I came to see the airplane. How did I get there? I walked. They assured me I couldn't go back the same way, so they let me out through a nearby gate and pointed me towards the main airport entrance. As I had no idea how far I had to go, I walked as fast as my short, powerful legs would carry me and got to my airplane in plenty of time for a scheduled departure. Another security guard came to my airplane to lecture me further on twilight walks in areas where his force might be embarrassed. We exchanged names and he left me properly contrite and hastened.

Title: AIRLINE CAPT WALKS ACROSS ARPT MOVEMENT AREA WITHOUT PERMISSION.
Narrative: MY CURIOSITY TO SEE THE ACR AIRPLANE AT MAUI OVERCAME ME, SO I WALKED TOWARDS IT ON THE RAMP UNTIL I REACHED TXWY B. I LOOKED BOTH WAYS AND AT THE TWR AND CROSSED THE TXWY TO RWY 5/23. I AGAIN LOOKED BOTH WAYS AND AT THE TWR. I THOUGHT I SAW A GREEN LIGHT, MAYBE A REFLECTION OF THE BEACON, SO I CROSSED THE RWY AND PROCEEDED TOWARDS THE AIRPLANE. AS I APCHED THE AIRPLANE I WAS MET BY 2 SECURITY GUARDS--ONE AMUSED THE OTHER OFFICIOUS AND ALARMED. WHAT WAS I DOING THERE? I CAME TO SEE THE AIRPLANE. HOW DID I GET THERE? I WALKED. THEY ASSURED ME I COULDN'T GO BACK THE SAME WAY, SO THEY LET ME OUT THROUGH A NEARBY GATE AND POINTED ME TOWARDS THE MAIN ARPT ENTRANCE. AS I HAD NO IDEA HOW FAR I HAD TO GO, I WALKED AS FAST AS MY SHORT, POWERFUL LEGS WOULD CARRY ME AND GOT TO MY AIRPLANE IN PLENTY OF TIME FOR A SCHEDULED DEP. ANOTHER SECURITY GUARD CAME TO MY AIRPLANE TO LECTURE ME FURTHER ON TWILIGHT WALKS IN AREAS WHERE HIS FORCE MIGHT BE EMBARRASSED. WE EXCHANGED NAMES AND HE LEFT ME PROPERLY CONTRITE AND HASTENED.
