Narrative:

Pittsburgh approach control, approach clrd our flight to 7000', which I read back as 7000'. Leaving 7700' approach called and said he had clrd us to 8000'. All 3 crew members confirmed we had been clrd to 7000'. I replied that 'I read back 7000''. He said we had traffic approaching our 12 O'clock position descending out of 7000' and we were to remain at 7500', which we did. At about that time we saw the traffic and replied so. Approach said at that time the traffic was descending out of 6800'. There was no further incident.

Title: CLRNC TO 7000 RECEIVED AND ACKNOWLEDGED. CTLR MEANT TO ASSIGN 8000. LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION.

Narrative: PITTSBURGH APCH CTL, APCH CLRD OUR FLT TO 7000', WHICH I READ BACK AS 7000'. LEAVING 7700' APCH CALLED AND SAID HE HAD CLRD US TO 8000'. HE SAID WE HAD TFC APCHING OUR 12 O'CLOCK POSITION DSNDING OUT OF 7000' AND WE WERE TO REMAIN AT 7500', WHICH WE DID. AT ABOUT THAT TIME WE SAW THE TFC AND REPLIED SO. APCH SAID AT THAT TIME THE TFC WAS DSNDING OUT OF 6800'. THERE WAS NO FURTHER INCIDENT.
