Narrative:

We were in the clouds with no precipitation showing on the radar at our postion. The radar; which was in the auto mode; showed scattered green returns (no yellow or red) within 40 NM. We encountered a lightning strike at that time. We also had a momentary number one engine stall show up on the ECAM then return to normal. We declared an emergency and returned to the departure airport. Maintenance found lightning hit the left side static port.
