Narrative:
On this ferry flight; previous discrepancy -- acrid odor in cabin. Aircraft approved for one-time flight for repair. On climb out passing about FL320; we got an aural alert and EICAS message smoke crew rest F/D. We donned masks; referred to the checklist; declared an emergency and returned to our departure airport. In the descent the alarm went out; and after checking for smoke or fumes; and with none present; we removed masks and canceled the emergency. Remainder of flight uneventful.
