Narrative:
Climbing through 7000 ft we got a 'stby inverter' message. Declared an emergency and returned to the departure airport. It was an overweight landing and airfield rescue and fire fighting was called out. It was an uneventful landing and return to gate.

Title: A B757-200's standby inverter failed during climb after takeoff. An emergency was declared and the crew returned to land at the departure airport.
