Narrative:
Strong east headwinds and ran out of gas. Landed in wheat field 7 miles short of destination. No damage. I failed to manage fuel consumption carefully. In future I will be taking more preparation in flight planning to prevent a similar occurrence and make fuel stop before proceeding to destination.

Title: A PA24 pilot reported an off airport landing because of fuel exhaustion. Strong headwinds and poorly managed fuel were the main factors.
Narrative: Strong East headwinds and ran out of gas. Landed in wheat field 7 miles short of destination. No damage. I failed to manage fuel consumption carefully.
