Narrative:
I was in the air traffic area at oxr. I was on a 2-3 mi right base entry to runway 25. ATC (tower) alerted me to possible traffic at 10-11 O'clock. That aircraft was at my altitude inside the air traffic area. The ATC controller advised me that he was not talking to that aircraft. My evasive action was to abruptly stop my descent.

Title: 2 SMA'S HAVE NMAC IN THE OXR ATA.
Narrative: I WAS IN THE ATA AT OXR. I WAS ON A 2-3 MI RIGHT BASE ENTRY TO RWY 25. ATC (TWR) ALERTED ME TO POSSIBLE TFC AT 10-11 O'CLOCK. THAT ACFT WAS AT MY ALT INSIDE THE ATA. THE ATC CTLR ADVISED ME THAT HE WAS NOT TALKING TO THAT ACFT. MY EVASIVE ACTION WAS TO ABRUPTLY STOP MY DSCNT.
