Narrative:
I was relieving a controller on R13. He gave no information on aircraft X; above otp/FL600 aircraft in his briefing. I assumed the position; signed in. As I did so; the controller from low altitude observed a data block that had auto-acquired on his sector (sector 30). He stepped over to sector 13 and asked if I knew about aircraft X. I said no and then observed the limited data block inside sector 13 airspace. I asked the relieved sector 13 controller if he knew anything about it; he said no. I called ZOA sector 43 and asked if they were working aircraft X. They said yes. I said point out approved; but they said we had already taken a point out. I told them that the previous controller knew nothing about it. They said no; he took a point out. The aircraft left the airspace without any further issues. Since I didn't observe the limited data block while receiving the briefing; but did see it after I had signed in (changing the dsr display pre-sets to my own); I wonder if the previous controller had different settings that; for some reason; did not display aircraft X's limited data block. If it was displayed I did not see it. The previous controller did not know anything about it but had only been sitting there for a few minutes. The controller previous to him had already gone home for the night so we don't know if he ever took a point out on the aircraft.
