Narrative:

We departed VFR for battle mountain, nv, on a scheduled flight over to eko. 27 mi wsw of eko we reported our position to eko radio on 123.6. Eko WX was clear, winds O5O at 07, no other traffic reported. We entered a straight in for runway 05 and reported our position and intentions again 12 mi out. On about 1/2 mi final a small aircraft cut in front of us. I took the controls away from the copilot and immediately initiated a go around and stated this over the radio. The FSS personnel asked if there was a problem. We replied that someone cut us off on short final. At this time the small aircraft came on the frequency and apologized. We entered downwind and thus came back around to land uneventfully. I feel everyone should use the radio at uncontrolled airports to both listen and talk, be vigilant for other traffic never assuming just because they aren't talking they aren't there and fly proper traffic patterns.
