Narrative:
The ASOS at los alamos used to advise that the traffic pattern was right turns only with landing only to the west. In the more distant past; the unicom used to advise of special operating requirements for avoiding the restricted area over lanl (staying east of whiterock until crossing the rio grande river; etc.). This information has been removed from the ASOS and I fear that many arriving pilots may not be familiar with local requirements. This information should be included in the ASOS to avoid potential traffic conflicts or restricted area incursions. There was no safety hazard or incident associated with my flight.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: An Air Taxi pilot reported that the LAM ASOS no longer includes reference to the Runway 27 special operating procedures. These procedures are necessary because of the airport's proximity to R-5101.
