Narrative:
Air carrier aircraft landing at dayton, oh, descending over top of small transport Y departing cincinnati to the north. In an effort to keep the air carrier descending to meet agreement with dayton approach control the small transport Y was assigned a lower altitude. The air carrier was then mistakenly assigned the same altitude instead of 1000' above the air taxi. Sep was lost. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter specified type aircraft involved. Medium large transport was descending and small transport was climbing, reporter meant to stop the medium large transport at 12000', but inadvertently stated 11000' in the clearance. Reporter had a data controller, but he was not usable for coordination due to personal problem that had occurred prior to reporter assuming the radar position. Traffic vol was light and reporter was coordinated with approach control to stop the small transport climb at 11000' so he could take the medium large transport over him at 12000'. Traffic advisory was given, but no indication if the aircraft saw each other. Was classified a minor infringement.

Title: ARTCC RADAR CTLR INADVERTENTLY ASSIGNED THE WRONG ALT TO DESCENDING MLG AND HAD LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION WITH CLIMBING SMT. OPERATIONAL ERROR.
Narrative: ACR ACFT LNDG AT DAYTON, OH, DSNDING OVER TOP OF SMT Y DEPARTING CINCINNATI TO THE N. IN AN EFFORT TO KEEP THE ACR DSNDING TO MEET AGREEMENT WITH DAYTON APCH CTL THE SMT Y WAS ASSIGNED A LOWER ALT. THE ACR WAS THEN MISTAKENLY ASSIGNED THE SAME ALT INSTEAD OF 1000' ABOVE THE AIR TAXI. SEP WAS LOST. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: RPTR SPECIFIED TYPE ACFT INVOLVED. MLG WAS DSNDING AND SMT WAS CLBING, RPTR MEANT TO STOP THE MLG AT 12000', BUT INADVERTENTLY STATED 11000' IN THE CLRNC. RPTR HAD A DATA CTLR, BUT HE WAS NOT USABLE FOR COORD DUE TO PERSONAL PROB THAT HAD OCCURRED PRIOR TO RPTR ASSUMING THE RADAR POS. TFC VOL WAS LIGHT AND RPTR WAS COORDINATED WITH APCH CTL TO STOP THE SMT CLB AT 11000' SO HE COULD TAKE THE MLG OVER HIM AT 12000'. TFC ADVISORY WAS GIVEN, BUT NO INDICATION IF THE ACFT SAW EACH OTHER. WAS CLASSIFIED A MINOR INFRINGEMENT.
