Narrative:
Cleared to cross 15 east of gardner VOR at 11000', 250 KTS. I read back 10000'/250 KTS. After we were level for a few mins, bos center asked our altitude. I replied 10000'. He said it should be 11000'. I said we would climb immediately or take a turn, whichever was necessary. He said stand by, then maintain 10000' and contact bos approach. The controller seemed relaxed with the situation and that there was no problem.
