Narrative:
Due to construction on taxiway a; we were issued a taxi clearance to taxi to runway 23 via taxiway C; taxiway right hold short of runway 23. As we approached runway 23 on taxiway C to hold short; a gulfstream was touching down. As it passed ATC cleared us across runway 23 and taxi via C and left on taxiway right. As we were crossing ATC transmitted instructions of 'left turn'. Not knowing who the transmition was for I stopped and then realized we were taxiing on runway 9-27. We still had room to exit 9-27; onto taxiway C; but ATC directed us to taxi on 27 with a left turn on taxiway right. While holding short of runway 23 on taxiway C; the aircraft is facing southeast. In order to taxi the aircraft onto taxiway C on the other side of 23 it is necessary to make a hard turn to the left and back taxi slightly on 23 to make the right onto C. When I started my taxi across 23 I made a left turn but not enough to avoid taxiing on runway 27. It would be helpful if there was a 'hot spot' note on the airport diagram. ATC did say after the occurence that it is a 'tricky' taxi. Clear taxi instructions that comment about the intersection would also be helpful.
