Narrative:
I am sending this report to bring attention to the confusion at the intersection of taxiways J; G; and B at the sdf airport. After push (at night) we were instructed to taxi to runway 17R via J;G; and B. Finding the correct path to transition onto B was very difficult with the current location of signs and markings. Even with a thorough taxi briefing at the gate and taxi instructions to match the expected preplanned taxi; we were unable to transition onto B without some confusion and uncertainty. [Recommend] improving markings and signs. Placing a lighted taxiway B sign on taxiway bravo just to the north of the intersection would help. Also; painting the concrete with the centerline and 'B' would help.
