Narrative:
Small aircraft X IFR at 9000' northbound on V39 south of sbv VORTAC. Light transport Y was cleared off dan climbed to 6000'. When he departed and was in radar contact he was climbed to 8000'. The pilot climbed to 10000'. He passed small aircraft X within 4.5 mi and was going through 9200'. The tape recording showed light transport Y was cleared to 8000'. The pilot read back 10000' the controller was working the sector by himself and was doing the right, left, D duties. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: types of aircraft were given by the reporter. Traffic vol was moderate and reporter was working a combined position operation. Traffic advisories were given when the C/a activated and traffic was sighted. Considered a minor infringement.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: LTT READBACK THE WRONG ALT AND ARTCC CTLR DID NOT CORRECT IT. CTLR WORKING COMBINED POSITION WITH MODERATE TRAFFIC DIDN'T SEE POTENTIAL CONFLICT UNTIL CONFLICT ALERT ACTIVATED WHEN THE LTT CLIMBED THROUGH ALT OF SMA.
Narrative: SMA X IFR AT 9000' NBOUND ON V39 S OF SBV VORTAC. LTT Y WAS CLRED OFF DAN CLBED TO 6000'. WHEN HE DEPARTED AND WAS IN RADAR CONTACT HE WAS CLBED TO 8000'. THE PLT CLBED TO 10000'. HE PASSED SMA X WITHIN 4.5 MI AND WAS GOING THROUGH 9200'. THE TAPE RECORDING SHOWED LTT Y WAS CLRED TO 8000'. THE PLT READ BACK 10000' THE CTLR WAS WORKING THE SECTOR BY HIMSELF AND WAS DOING THE R, L, D DUTIES. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: TYPES OF ACFT WERE GIVEN BY THE RPTR. TFC VOL WAS MODERATE AND RPTR WAS WORKING A COMBINED POS OPERATION. TFC ADVISORIES WERE GIVEN WHEN THE C/A ACTIVATED AND TFC WAS SIGHTED. CONSIDERED A MINOR INFRINGEMENT.
