Narrative:
On approach we noted the arrival was different than our approach plates. On closer inspection we found the aero charts maintained on board by our vendor were expired by one year! I had checked the date; but not the year; on cockpit preflight. We landed uneventfully and I contacted dispatch and a chief pilot who facilitated the delivery on an email with all the required charts for the return trip. He said the out of date charts would be replaced on arrival there. We pushed six minutes early and did not encounter a delay.it appears the vendor had either not replaced the chart package in a year or had replaced it with an out of date package. I will check date and year on the flight kits in the future. The vendor should make a little more effort to keep the pubs up to date. FYI; I used my cell phone to contact all parties rather than the ACARS to expedite communications.
