Narrative:

On the BQS4 arrival into mci; I was the pilot flying. We were pulled off the arrival just after mcm. We were at FL360 and told not to exceed 280 KTS. We were then cleared to FL330 and to turn 10 right. After a period of time; we were cleared to FL240. We were then cleared direct to bramyer and to cross bramyer at 12;000 ft. The descent page on the FMC was showing about 4000 ft high. I forgot about the 280-KT speed restriction and went to 300 KTS to make the 12;000 ft restriction at bramyer. The mci center asked our speed. I told him 300 KTS to make the bramyer restriction. He was very upset; because I did not tell him I had increased my speed. I forgot about the 280 KTS. All I thought about was making the braymer restriction. This is my fault.
