Narrative:
While parked at gate 16, san jose, ca, I was preparing the cockpit for a continuation flight to vancouver, back course, when the number one F/a informed me 2 passengers had fallen out the forward entry door onto the ramp below. Evidently a fleet service truck inadvertently bumped the stairs as it completed servicing the forward lavatory. The passengers sustained injuries and were subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment. I coordinated first aid efforts and called for an ambulance on the company frequency and san jose ground. I did not see this ground accident actually happen.
