Narrative:
At the top of descent; the stab out of trim light illuminated. We checked the circuit breakers (none were popped) and ran the QRH checklist. We determined we had inoperative stab trim and we accomplished the stabilizer trim inoperative checklist. We coordinated with ATC (since we were no longer rvsm capable); and we declared an emergency with approach control.we coordinated with dispatch and the rest of the crew; and we briefed the passengers. After checking the landing data; we proceeded to ZZZ; performed a QRH directed flaps 15 landing; canceled the emergency; and proceeded to the gate. We were met by maintenance and crash fire rescue equipment. I spoke with the passengers again; ensured the crew was ready to proceed; and coordinated with dispatch; and the chief pilot on call.
