Narrative:
I was flying northbound at 1;000 ft in the new york hudson corridor transient airspace making the mandatory position reports when a helicopter climbed up and through my flight path. I believe I heard a helicopter report climbing from 900 ft to 1;300 ft. I needed to slow the airplane in order to maintain safe separation.
