Narrative:
A C182 was an IFR aircraft inbound to idp. Aircraft canceled IFR; cancellation was acknowledged and pilot was cleared to squawk VFR and change to advisory frequency. I didn't pass the cancellation information to the tower; I'd been trying to get another facility to answer a land line in order to complete a point out; heard the cancellation via the speaker; disengaged the land line to acknowledge the cancellation and went immediately back to trying to raise the adjacent facility on the land line to complete the point out and forgot about passing the cancellation. The pilot apparently didn't contact the idp tower and landed at idp facing a departure on the same runway.
