Narrative:
I have been on pm home reserve this bid. This means that I plan to fly until nearly midnight and schedule my sleep accordingly. Upon waking up this morning; I noticed that crew scheduling plans to switch me to am airport reserve tomorrow. This means that with no chance to change my sleep cycle. I would be required to wake up a few hours after midnight and make it to the airport for an early morning report. This is ethically and morally wrong. The company is doing the wrong thing by scheduling this way. This is completely unsafe and utterly ridiculous. This happens because the company cares more about its bottom line financially than it does about the safety of its passengers and employees.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A First Officer reported that he planned his sleep schedule for his PM reserve schedule but his Company was changing him to an AM schedule the next day which would require an unsafe sleep transition period that night.
