Narrative:
A minute or so after takeoff; a flight attendant called on the intercom and said he could see the L2 outside door handle was out of position and visible through the door window. The captain elected to return to the airport. We declared an emergency and executed an uneventful approach and overweight landing back back at our departure airport.
