Narrative:
On vectors for approach slats were called for extension. After no extension ECAM procedures were followed for slat system 1 and 2 fault. After several attempts at extension QRH procedures were followed. Computations for added approach speed and additional runway required were made. An emergency was declared. The approach and go-around were re-briefed and vectors were received for the approach. An uneventful approach; landing and rollout ensued. The flaps were left extended on taxi for maintenance.
