Narrative:
I was assigned to assist a coworker to remove and replace an idg on a crj-200 aircraft. We removed the idg and when it was being replaced I realized there was no reference as to how to replace it. I believe what caused us to forget to replace the o-ring is because we did not have the [maintenance manual (M/M)] reference at hand or we did not follow procedures as required. We realized our mistake and will make sure this does not happen again.
