Narrative:
I was sent to aircraft to repair a crack (approximately 3 inches) in the right navigation light lens. This crack was within limits for a stop drill repair. After completing the repair I signed off the logbook but did not give specific maintenance manual reference authorizing this type of repair, which in my view, may or may not have been required.
