Narrative:
Working on bag [(cargo)] bay door; repairing a broken cable and dealing with other problems in the bag bay [involving] broken brackets; I became distracted and forgot to torque and safety a pulley bolt for the door cable installation. Driving home; ruminating on the night's events; it occurred to me I had missed (forgotten) a step and [so] I immediately called my supervisor to inform him on the situation. [This was caused by] dealing with multiple problems under time constraints [and] not finishing one job prior to starting another. [The] bolt was in a hard to see position.supervisor contacted maintenance control and called [the] company safety hotline. [The] problem [was] rectified by maintenance at ZZZ; where aircraft landed. Suggest finishing one job prior to starting another; crossing off each step in a printed out maintenance procedure; and double/triple check work if need be. I; the mechanic; was the sole person responsible for this event.
