Narrative:

I was training a developmental controller at the lfd sector 15. The supervisor ask us if we wanted to combine sectors so we could go watch a falcon of the developmental's previous session; we did. We gave the ok; and briefed the controller at the receiving sector; jxn (14); and then left the control room to watch the falcon. The supervisor did not put in the entry to close the sector. After we were out of the control room the error was noticed because zcg called the sector because hand offs were not taken since the were flashing at sector 15 which was not staffed. If the sectors were combined they would have flashed at sector 14. The supervisor should have combined the sectors.

Title: ZOB Controller observed several failed hand off attempts after being relieved from position; discovering that required position combination computer entries were not completed.
