Narrative:
After completing a scurry 9 arrival to meacham airport we were cleared for a visual approach to runway 16L and advised to call meacham tower, which we did. Tower cleared us to land on runway 16L and called out traffic on short final and requested that we hold our speed down. We idented the traffic on short final and held our speed back to approximately 125 KTS. At this time we noticed an aircraft on takeoff which would be no factor. At about this time I looked to the right front of the aircraft and saw an small aircraft at 2 O'clock and very close. I immediately turned to the left and called for a missed approach and climbed to 2000' and was advised to return to approach control, which we did, and then vectored for another landing on the same runway west/O incident. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter states that tower made no comment about the small aircraft aircraft. When questioned after the fact stated: 'oh, he was probably cleared for runway 16R,' a runway used for training and GA small aircraft's. Says when sighted the aircraft filled the entire window area and really scared the crew.

Title: NMAC.
Narrative: AFTER COMPLETING A SCURRY 9 ARR TO MEACHAM ARPT WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 16L AND ADVISED TO CALL MEACHAM TWR, WHICH WE DID. TWR CLRED US TO LAND ON RWY 16L AND CALLED OUT TFC ON SHORT FINAL AND REQUESTED THAT WE HOLD OUR SPD DOWN. WE IDENTED THE TFC ON SHORT FINAL AND HELD OUR SPD BACK TO APPROX 125 KTS. AT THIS TIME WE NOTICED AN ACFT ON TKOF WHICH WOULD BE NO FACTOR. AT ABOUT THIS TIME I LOOKED TO THE RIGHT FRONT OF THE ACFT AND SAW AN SMA AT 2 O'CLOCK AND VERY CLOSE. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED TO THE LEFT AND CALLED FOR A MISSED APCH AND CLBED TO 2000' AND WAS ADVISED TO RETURN TO APCH CTL, WHICH WE DID, AND THEN VECTORED FOR ANOTHER LNDG ON THE SAME RWY W/O INCIDENT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: RPTR STATES THAT TWR MADE NO COMMENT ABOUT THE SMA ACFT. WHEN QUESTIONED AFTER THE FACT STATED: 'OH, HE WAS PROBABLY CLRED FOR RWY 16R,' A RWY USED FOR TRNING AND GA SMA'S. SAYS WHEN SIGHTED THE ACFT FILLED THE ENTIRE WINDOW AREA AND REALLY SCARED THE CREW.
