Narrative:

Aircraft was inadvertently flown through a temporary restr area that was not shown on sectional chart. FSS was contacted for en route WX but NOTAMS were not discussed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter states temporary restr area created due to fire fighting activities at yellowstone. Fire had been out for 3 or 4 days at time of flight. No equipment flying at that time. FSS had not mentioned NOTAMS when briefing was given. Flew into airport with no mention of restr area, but on call up at departure unicom operator asked if pilot would be heading toward restr area. First awareness of it.

Title: PENETRATED TEMPORARY RESTRICTED AREA.

Narrative: ACFT WAS INADVERTENTLY FLOWN THROUGH A TEMPORARY RESTR AREA THAT WAS NOT SHOWN ON SECTIONAL CHART. FSS WAS CONTACTED FOR ENRTE WX BUT NOTAMS WERE NOT DISCUSSED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: RPTR STATES TEMPORARY RESTR AREA CREATED DUE TO FIRE FIGHTING ACTIVITIES AT YELLOWSTONE. FIRE HAD BEEN OUT FOR 3 OR 4 DAYS AT TIME OF FLT. NO EQUIPMENT FLYING AT THAT TIME. FSS HAD NOT MENTIONED NOTAMS WHEN BRIEFING WAS GIVEN. FLEW INTO ARPT WITH NO MENTION OF RESTR AREA, BUT ON CALL UP AT DEP UNICOM OPERATOR ASKED IF PLT WOULD BE HEADING TOWARD RESTR AREA. FIRST AWARENESS OF IT.
