Narrative:
This is perhaps the sixth time in 2 years that I've flown to lsgg when the forecast weather was VFR and the flight was scheduled to arrive with around 13;000 pounds of fuel and no alternate airport. That may be okay at some international destinations; conditions permitting; but it should never be okay at lsgg because it has a single runway and the nearest alternate airport is 4;200 pounds of fuel away. If for any reason this single runway closes (pick a reason); you would find yourself with a precarious fuel load to divert to an alternate. This has always been discussed dispatch and we have always been in full agreement. Twice the dispatcher spoke of filing a report on this subject. I regret not filing it every time. It is probably caused by the fuel planning program; but this is an exceptional situation that should not conform to the 'standard' fuel-planning program and needs to be changed.
