Narrative:
Upon arrival at gate; FAA inspector met us on the flight deck and asked if we knew there was a mobility device in the cargo area that contained batteries. [He also asked] if we were aware that the device was in the on position. We were not aware of this device; nor were we aware that it was in the on position. It was not noted on the weight and balance that a mobility device containing batteries was on our aircraft.
